With Mode 1 Smart Insert technology, the CipherKey is inserted once per power-on for authentication, then removed for safekeeping. Unlike drives that require the key to remain plugged in, Mode 1 allows secure, unattended backups while ensuring that if power or the USB cable is disconnected, the drive instantly locks down.

Hardware-level encryption provides superior protection compared to software encryption, without compromising performance, requiring driver installation, or necessitating complicated passwords. Data remains inaccessible even if the drive is removed and directly connected to the SATA bus. Each unit ships with two CipherKeys for secure redundancy.

Built with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) and eSATA (6 Gbps) interfaces, the drive delivers fast transfer rates and full-disk encryption, making it a reliable solution for safeguarding sensitive files, top-secret projects, financial records, and confidential legal documents.
